More than hundred enthusiastic amateur golfers braved the chilly Bangalore weather to compete on the third day of the Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival. The penultimate day of the Golfing extravaganza saw celebrities like Venkatesh Prasad, Syed Kirmani, E. Prasanna and Sunil Joshi lend their star power to the event.
Aalaap I.L with a stellar performance had the best individual score of the day with 30 points. Jaibir Singh had a good outing on the course as he scored 35 to top the 0-5 handicap category while Rajesh Raju's brilliant show with the club helped him win the 6-10 handicap category with a score of 31 points. G. S. Yadav scored 35 points to top the leader board in the 11-15 handicap category and Kush Jawahar, with a score of 37 points, triumphed in the 16-20 handicap category.
With a standout performance that earned him a score of 37 points, Kanwaljit Singh quelled stiff challenge from Sunil Joshi (34 points) to emerge victorious in the 21-24 handicap category. The day's long drive challenge on Hole 9 was won by Noorain Fazal who shot the ball 307 yards away with her powerful stroke.
Fourth and final day of the Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival will see exciting golfing action as more talented golfers compete for a spot in the team that will represent India at the World Golfers Championship in Durban, South Africa. The winners will be felicitated at a grand cocktail and dinner awards ceremony to be held at the newly opened Park Plaza, Bengaluru, on 4th September, 2011.
